Jewellery care & repair

Good care takes a minute.

Here's what your jewellery needs, depending on the material – and what we do if something breaks after all.

For all jewellery

Put it on last

After perfume, cream and hairspray.

Take it off

For showering, swimming, sport, the sauna and sleeping.

Store separately

Dry, in its pouch, so nothing gets scratched.

Care by material

Silver, anti-tarnish

Silver cuffs and rings

Wipe it now and then with the silver polishing cloth. This removes fingerprints and light tarnish.

Silver, rhodium-plated

Necklaces, chain bracelets, Lou Bracelet, Parker, Billie, Cross

Wipe with a soft, dry cloth.

No silver polish and no silver dip – it damages the surface.

18K Gold-Plated

All gold models

Clean only with a soft, dry cloth.

No silver polishing cloth, no polish, no silver dip. Gold wears with friction.

Natural stone

Lou Lava, Lou Lapis, Billie (onyx)

Wipe dry.

No water, no cleaning products, no perfume. Lava stone is porous and absorbs liquid.

Has your silver tarnished?

That's normal. Silver reacts with air, moisture and skin, even when you're not wearing it. Polish cuffs and rings with the silver polishing cloth. For rhodium-plated chains, a soft cloth is usually enough. If the shine doesn't come back, message us.

Adjust your cuff once

Gently bend your cuff to your size once, then leave it. Bending it open and closed again and again weakens the silver. To put it on, slide it sideways over the narrowest part of your wrist.

Goes with Silver Polishing Cloth
For cuffs and rings in 925 silver. Removes fingerprints and light tarnish, used dry, no chemicals.
  • Use dry, rub gently
  • Don't wash it, or the impregnation will be lost
  • Not for gold-plated jewellery
